Coming FAll 2015: EMU EDGE

Next year, the Holman Success Center will continue its relentless pursuit to stay on the cutting edge of educational success with the introduction of its new programing weekend for first year students: Eastern EDGE. Eastern EDGE will be a special program that is opt in for all first year students and is part of the curriculum for all students involved in the larger PASS program.

EDGE will be a special move in date well before even the early freshman move in date, so students get a full week to get acclimated to Eastern before classes start. The EDGE is designed to help students get every single academic advantage before they begin the First 4 program for all freshmen begin.

One of the biggest advantages offered is the chance to work with internationally known motivational speaker/ author Jullien Gordan. He will be offering a free workshop to every EDGE student where you will work through his guide to graduating on time while simultaneously getting the absolute most out of an undergraduate education.

In addition to the seminar on how to succeed, some basic skills will be covered in depth during the first couple days. These are the simple skills that will set EDGE students apart from their peers almost immediately out of the gate and on the track to academic success. From setting up a campus email and using the myemich student portal to a closer look at the online class course shell, having a head start like this can help students tremendously.

Finally, to round out the weekend, plans are in the works to attend the prestigious U of M Challenge Course during move in day. This will be a great chance to bond with UNIV teams as well as avoid all of the annoying hustle and bustle that comes with hundreds of students moving in at once.

Again, EMU EDGE is open to all first year students as an opt in option. To register, or find out more visit us online!
