Student Spotlight ~ HSC Graduates!

Graduation 2017 is just around the corner!

Two of our very own peer mentors will be graduating this year and we would like to share a little about who they are, what they do, and why they have been so awesome while working at the Holman Success Center! Time flies when you’re having fun and Briana and Jill have definitely made their time at EMU an enriching one.

Jill is a senior undergraduate student here at EMU, she will be graduating in December 2017. She is in the Elementary Education program with a focus in Mathematics and English Language Arts. Jill first became involved with Holman when she came to EMU as part of the Edge program. HSC gave her the resources and support she needed to thrive at EMU, including a scholarship after her outstanding academic achievements. With the help of HSC, Jill spent almost every semester on the Dean’s list which gave her the opportunity to become a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and Kappa Delta Pi, an international honor society for educators. After her positive experience with the Edge program, Jill wanted to give back to Holman through her commitment and service to mentor the next generation of Edge students. Jill absolutely loves EMU and wants to show all of her students just how great life at EMU can be!

Brianna is a Cleveland native who is studying Sports Performance and Fitness Entrepreneurship at EMU. She was a former Peer Mentor for Holman Success Center for the SisterHOOD Cohort, and is now a Success Coach and Social Media Team Member for Holman Success Center! Brianna is very involved on campus. She is the Director of Student Services for Student Government, a Mentor for The S.E.L.F.Project and Honors College, as well as a SisterHOOD Ambassador for the SisterHOOD Initiative! As a pastime, Brianna loves hanging out with her friends, and watching her favorite cartoon Spongebob Squarepants! She hopes to one day inspire others to be better than they were yesterday, and to let them know to never limit themselves.
