Starting college can be scary. There are many things that change in your academic life as you transition from high school to college. Your workload and the amount of time you spend studying, for example will increase. For many students, this will also be the first time living away from family.
However, becoming a member of EMU is also an exciting experience! One of the best ways to get involved on campus is to join one of our many clubs. Your high school likely offered an art, journalism, and theater club. EMU hosts more than 200 different student organizations, ensuring a club for every student. There sheer number of options, though, can make it a bit overwhelming. If you’re looking to join an organization, follow these steps.
Student Organization Fairs: EMU offers a student organization fair at the start of both the fall and winter semester. This is an opportunity to stop by student organization tables, meet the group leaders and members, and sign up to get more information. You can find all EMU events here.
Eagle Sync: Use this website to search for organizations you might be interested in. Most organizations have a description as lists of their events and contact people. Once you join organizations you can become a member and interact with the group through this website, staying updated on upcoming happenings.
Peer Engagement Coaches: EMU’s Campus Life offers coaches to students who need some support as they look for groups to join. You can learn more about coaches and make an appointment here.
