Thursday Tips: LBC Events for UNIV Assignment

LBC Events assignments are due in less than a month for UNIV students! If you’re looking for an event to attend, look no further. We’ve curated a list of events that work well for this assignment.

Latin Night, Thursday, Oct. 4, 6 PM – 11 PM
Student Center Ballroom
The Latinx Student Association will lead students in dance lessons. There will even be a live DJ!

Frederick Douglass: Prophet of Freedom, Monday, Oct. 8, 5:30 PM
Student Center RM 300
Dr. David Blight will give a lecture on “historical and contemporary impact of Frederick Douglass” as part of Constitution Day.

Gregory Dowd, “Groundless: Rumors, Legends and Hoaxes on the American Frontier”, Tuesday, Oct. 9, 4 PM – 5:30 PM
Halle Library Auditorium, G03
Gregory Dowd will discuss his new book which is focused on “Native Americans and cultural contact in early America.”

Key Themes for Older Adults in Disasters: Preparedness, Recovery and Response, Wednesday, Oct. 17, 4 PM – 6:30 PM
McKenny Hall Ballroom
This informational session on helping older adults after disasters will be following by a community resource fair with appetizers.
