Supplemental Instruction

The Supplemental Instruction (SI) Program is a free academic support service offered to currently enrolled undergraduate students at EMU through the Holman Success Center. SI works directly with numerous undergrad classes on campus. Each class for which SI is offered is supported by a trained SI Leader who facilitates weekly collaborative study sessions.

What to Expect

The SI program offered through the HSC provides free academic support for several undergraduate education courses. SI is internationally recognized and found in over 1500 institutions in 29 countries. SI Leaders are EMU students interested in assisting their fellow peers and have been trained to facilitate biweekly collaborative study sessions.

Sessions are offered in courses like:

Political Science
Chemistry
History
Psychology
Biology
Economics
Geography

Student Benefits:

–  Better understand and retain course material
–  Improve academic skills such as note-taking, test prep and test-taking
–  Review material in collaborative study groups, facilitated by a trained SI Leader
